Low block walls, pillars, and sitting edges on a prepared site
Block pillars and sitting walls in Sydney are the lower structure: an edge you can sit on, a pillar, a low wall that holds a garden bed or a terrace. They still need a base. They still need access for the materials.
These are not a substitute for a high retaining wall. If the ground is moving or the height is serious, that is a retaining wall job. Sitting walls and pillars are the finish after the levels are in: a courtyard edge, a gate pillar, a low terrace. The base has to be right. Water still has to leave.
After a knock-down the old brick pillars often go with the house. New ones go in once the driveway or the courtyard levels are known. We can pour the bases, lay the block, and work it into the same civil or carpentry run if that is on site.
