Concrete Slab Cutting

Openings, stair wells, and controlled cuts in a slab that has to stay.

Concrete slab cutting is the job where part of the slab has to come out and the rest has to stay. Openings for new stairs, a saw cut around a section the builder is keeping, a strip out of a failed bay. We look at thickness, access, and what sits under the slab before we quote.

Concrete Slab Cutting – Elite Demolition & Excavation Sydney & Central Coast

From first look to handover

  1. 01

    See the slab

Thickness, what has to stay, and how we get a saw in. Photos help. A site look confirms it.

  2. 02

    Mark and cut

The line is marked before the saw starts. The section that stays is not treated as waste.

  3. 03

    Lift and cart

The cut section leaves the site. The opening is left so the next trade can work.

How this job runs

A full knockdown is a different page. This work is a cut. The machine that takes a house down is not the tool for a clean opening. We mark what stays, cut what goes, and cart the broken section.

If the whole house is coming down, that sits on house demolition. If you need a new driveway after the cut, that sits on civil.

We inspect, then we quote. Photos of the slab and the access get that started. There is no public rate per metre on this page. Call 0487 549 909 or send the suburb and a couple of photos.

Other concrete cutting work

Concrete wall cutting

A clean opening in a wall that is not coming down.

Driveway and path cutting

Cut out what has failed. Leave the pavement that still works.

Concrete cutting before demolition

Isolate what stays. Then the machine can take what goes.

Back to Concrete Cutting

This sits under Concrete Cutting. If the job also needs another trade on the same site, say so on the quote. We inspect, then we quote.

Concrete slab cutting FAQs

Can you cut an opening in an existing slab?

Yes. Stair wells and service openings are the usual brief. We look at thickness and what sits under the slab first.

Is slab cutting the same as demolishing the house?

No. A knockdown takes the building. Slab cutting takes a marked section and leaves the rest.

Do you publish a price per metre?

No. Thickness, access, and how much has to stay change the job. We inspect, then we quote.
