A trench is only useful if it is in the right place, at the right depth, and open when the next trade needs it. Services for power, water, or stormwater. Footings for a wall or a slab edge. A pit for a tank. We dig to the brief, keep the sides safe enough to work, and cart what comes out. Live services in the ground are why we look before we dig, not after we hit them.
Tight sites make trenching more hand work. A side path, a finished driveway you are keeping, or a terrace backyard changes the machine. Some runs are a compact excavator. Some are a crew with a saw and a small bucket. The quote follows the access, not the length of the trench on paper.
Stormwater trenches often sit with stormwater systems on a civil booking. Footing digs after a knock-down sit with the rest of the excavation. One crew if that is what the site needs.
